Zancada is an Android app that connects to a walking pad over Bluetooth and records your walks. This policy explains what it does with your information.

Zancada does not collect, transmit or sell any personal data. It has no servers of its own: your walks never leave your phone, and the only thing that goes online is a purchase, handled by Google Play.

What stays on your device only:

  • Walk history: duration, distance, steps and the estimated calories of each session, saved in a local database on your phone.
  • Body weight: the figure you enter in Settings. It is used only to estimate calories and is never sent anywhere.
  • Your treadmill's Bluetooth address: so the app can reconnect to the same pad.
  • App preferences: such as whether dynamic colour is enabled.
  • Whether you have paid: a copy of what Google Play reports, so the app still opens without a connection.

All of it lives in the app's private storage. Uninstalling Zancada deletes it.

Zancada requests BLUETOOTH_SCAN and BLUETOOTH_CONNECT to find and control your walking pad. The scan permission is declared neverForLocation: the app does not request or derive your location, and does not hold any location permission.

If you turn it on and grant permission, Zancada writes finished sessions to Health Connect: exercise, distance, steps and active calories, plus the speed you walked at if you also allow speed. This is a write-only integration — the app requests no read permission and never reads your health data.

Health Connect is part of Android and stores those records on your device, under your control. You can review or revoke Zancada's access, and delete the records it wrote, from Health Connect's own settings at any time.

Calorie figures are an estimate calculated from your pace and the body weight you entered, because treadmills do not measure calories. They are labelled as an estimate in the app.

Your first three walks are free. After that, Zancada offers a one-off purchase and a weekly subscription, both sold through Google Play Billing. You pay Google Play, not Zancada: your payment details and the record of the purchase are handled by Google under the Google Play Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.

Zancada only asks Google Play whether you have an active purchase, to unlock the app. It never sees your payment details and does not send your purchase anywhere. The app holds the INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE permissions because the Google Play Billing Library requires them; nothing else in the app uses the network.

Now and then, after a walk, Zancada asks Google Play to show its rating card, and Google Play decides whether it appears. A rating or review you leave there goes to Google Play like any other, under Google's terms; the app itself never sees it.

  • No accounts, no sign-up, no login.
  • No analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking SDKs.
  • No advertising identifier.
  • No servers of its own: apart from Google Play Billing, the app does not use the network.
  • No data shared with any third party.
